Ibanez Guitars

Ibanez Guitars are great for players that want versatility in tone, parts, and feel. There are a few different types of Ibanez. They offer a couple low-end models that are generally owned by beginners. An example would be the Ibanez Gio.

Next is the middle class of their guitars mainly the RG series. The RG series (excluding the prestige and special editions) are great second guitars. They might even be the right first guitar for someone who knows they will be committed to playing guitar. The price of the RG series guitars range from roughly $330 to $500. With these you will usually have the choice between an Edge III Tremolo or a fixed bridge, and possibly an Edge Pro. You are also most likely to get a Wizard II neck.

There is also the SA and SZ series. These range from $250-$650. All of them have 22 frets,. None of them have floating tremolos. The SA and the SZ series also have curved bodies, similar to the S. The next step up from the RG series is the Ibanez S Series. The S series main feature is it’s extremely thin body. It measures ¾ in. to 1 in. thick. They usually have a ZR (Zero Resistance) Tremolo and a Wizard II neck. The bodies are made out of an assortment of materials.

The price of the S Series is usually around $600-$650. The next guitar is a quite a large step up from the S series. The RG Prestige guitars are for the more serious players. The Prestige series guitars usually contain an Edge Pro Tremolo, Prestige neck, and the ever so famous “Prestige” logo on the head stock. Like the S Series the bodies are made out of an assortment of materials.

The price for one of the RG Prestige Series guitars is anywhere from $900 to $1,500.

The only higher quality guitars by Ibanez are either custom made guitars, signature model guitars, or limited editions like the Steve Vai JEM 20th Anniversary Edition which goes for $5,000. It comes with many fancy features including gold hardware, light up body, and special inlays.

Overall, mostly all of the Ibanez guitars mentioned here are very versatile guitars that sound great from clean to death metal distortion. Whether you are a beginner or have been playing your whole life, Ibanez is the right choice.
