How to Make Game Night Fun

[ad_1]

Game night should be fun. Building a family game night around having fun rather than holding it to promote "family togetherness" will prevent all those groans and complains.

Here are some tips to make it fun.

1. Play new games.

Do not play the same game over and over again. If you do people will ever get bored of that game and only show up because they feel like they have to. If however you play different games once in a while people will get excited to see what game you are playing now.

2. Hold a contest.

See who can win the most family game nights. People are competitive by nature so the competition alone will make it fun and get people to get into whatever you are playing. It also helps kids get the competitive spirit which can help them in the real world.

3. Give Prizes.

Everyone loves getting things for free. So why not give away prizes to whoever wins each game. This does not have to be anything big, but the fact that you are giving away prizes will make people get into game night.

4. Be Excited

All of the things you try will not work out nicely if you are not excited yourself. It is extremely hard to convince someone to have fun if you are not having fun yourself. This is especially true with little kids who look to their parents as an example. If you are not enthusiastic they will not be either.

5. Mix Things up

The more often you try new things the more often they will look forward to it. Most people get tired of repetitive things so if you are always playing scrabble people will get tired and stop wanting to play.

Just remember family game nights are meant to be fun and the more exciting they are the more everyone will remember it.
