The fabric of the rug may also be determined by the type of flooring you have. If your floor is patterned, plainer rugs are recommended and vice-versa.
Check the durability of your rug as well. There are rug types that last longer compared to others like wool. You may want to pick materials that are easier to clean if you have pets or children at home.
