Quality Time With Kids

A lot of parents nowdays have difficulty in dividing their time with work and family. Oftentimes we feel so guilty not spending time with our kids. Stressful situations at work could sometimes lead to kids being shouted at, or not being able to meet their needs – physically, mentally and spiritually.

Sometimes, we resort to just buying so much toys for them to compensate for that "lost time". But as parents we should be aware and always be reminded that there are ways where we can spend quality time with them and at the same time hitting two birds with one stone.

Here are some tips I'd like to share with you – which my kids and I are doing present. One, go to church every Sunday with the whole family. I've noticed that we seem to have a more productive and relaxed day after going to church. And while you're physically together, you instill the value of being a God-fearing individual to your kids. Two, if you like computer games, why not play it with your kids. So this means both of you are enjoying and at the same time bonding with each other. Three, shop together. This means being with each others company, talking about anything under the sun and getting to know your kids likes and dislikes or preference on clothes, food, etc. Four, attend all his school activities. If this means taking a leave from work, then so be it. This is very important for our kids. They feel so left out and feel unimportant when you do not take time to attend school activities which involve parents. This at the same time, lets you know how your kid is doing in school.

There are still a lot of ways to spend quality time with our kids. It's just setting the right priorities. Sometimes, there are ways where you need not go out of the comfort of your own home. Just be creative! Have a quality and fun time!
