A few years ago, the term custom showers would have made people give you a funny look. Showers were purely functional, and far from glamorous. Another popular feature in custom showers is stone tiles, and possibly even a bench or other seating to relax while you're in the shower. These make the shower more of a sauna or spa experience, rather than just a practical place to get clean.
The enclosure, or shower surround, will also have a bearing on your shower. Frameless shower doors, with hidden hinges and frosted glass, will add a very attractive look to your custom shower.
While your grandparents – and probably even your parents – might think you're out of your mind for spending the money and time on a room where you spend so little time, you'll enjoy your time in the shower much more. And, as an added bonus, if you decide it's time to sell your home, your custom shower will likely add quite a bit to the selling price.
