When preparing for a trip, many people over pack their luggage because they are afraid to leave something behind. If, for example, you exercise every day, then you will want to bring along your sneakers; but limit it to one pair. The same can be said with coats. It is wise to come prepared, but do you really need a different coat for each outfit? By investigating the climate before you depart, you can discover exactly what you need for each day and plan accordingly.
Packing itself is an art form. There are many tips on how to pack your clothes so that you can fit everything into your bags. For example, putting your socks inside your shoes can safely space and stop your them from being crushed by other items. Also, you can roll your clothes instead of folding them to fit more items in your suitcase, or you can even use space saving bags that are available in most discount stores. You simply place your clothes in and then vacuum out the air to flatten the entire pack without wrinkling anything inside.
If you plan to buy a lot of souvenirs on your trip, by all means bring a small bag to transport them home, but make sure it is indeed small. You do not need another entire suitcase full of purchase to haul home.
