How to Be a Responsible Pet Monkey Owner

[ad_1]

There are lots of animals available as house pets but not a lot of them require too much of an attention like pet monkeys do. Pet monkeys are really like human infants; they look adorable, sweet and harmless, that need full time attention, because the first two years of their life are the most crucial part of their development. The abilities they will learn and the character they will build in the first two years will stay on with them as they grow up to become adults. They can live up to 20-40 years when well taken care of, but still they tend to need full time of its owner's attention, and they can not, in any way, do anything without their owner's attention or supervision.

Owning a pet, specifically pet monkeys, is like a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, you have to have some sort of commitment to it. It can be like a nurse-patient relationship too, you have to attend every little thing your pet may need or want. The caring of a mother to her child can also fit to the kind of relationship one pet owner should have. All these pictures have the same common denominator behind it, TIME & EFFORT. You have to have time and effort to be called a responsible pet owner.

One of the main requirements in owning a monkey as pet is time and effort. It is the owner's willingness to put all his effort and time to his / her pet if they want them to live longer. Along the way, there are lots of activities the owner and the pet will share together, so the pet will have the capacity to live its whole lifetime. These activities, to name a few, include feeding, bathing, playing & bonding with them, training them personally or hire them a trainer; take them to veterinary clinic when needed; prepare their food especially when it requires some special diets. Among all activities, a monkey needs a large amount of social interaction and attention from the owner and the other members of a family where the pet lives, most importantly. A pet monkey devoted of your time and attention will only develop severe behavioral problems and psychological issues, which will just cause a lot of problems later on in life.

The other criteria to be called a responsible pet owner go under social responsibilities. To name a few legal issues, respect to neighborhood and the community. To own a pet monkey, one should be aware of the legal issues relating with keeping a monkey as pets; one has to know if it is legal to own one and can maintain a right facility for the monkey. Respect to the neighbors around and the community is one main concern too in owning a pet monkey. Because we all know not all people are fond into owning some exotic pets, especially monkeys that can be so annoying at times when they become very playful. Also the peace and order it can contribute to the community; the noise it can create around and the smell of the wastes of the monkey. The owner should be aware of these issues so there will be no complaints from other residents and problems in the neighborhood.

One has to remember, owning a pet does not necessarily mean to just provide your pets the basic needs, but also about committing yourself to it; if you are able to give your full attention to your pets.
