30 Days to Make an Exercise Habit: How to Make Sure You Never Miss a Workout

It typically takes an average human being 30 days to make an exercise habit, your body and mind will always resist when you will try to create a new habit but if you will stick to it you will ever have no trouble exercising, you wont even have to think about it.

If you do not make exercising a habit you will always struggle when you have to go to the gym and ever you will give up, I do not know about you but for me personally having to give up something means that I've failed , going to the gym and working out is an obligation that we have to ourselves, if I sit on a couch with my feet on a table all the time I was going to show disrespect towards myself and my body also it would show disrespect towards whoever put us here on this earth.

Figure out WHY you are doing this

If you are going to pointlessly start lifting weights you will go now and ever quit, its like buying a car and driving around without a destination, you will always run out of fuel and there will be no point in refilling the tank because it will be a waste of money and time.

Figure out why you are going to work out, is it to lose weight? gain muscle? condition your body for a sport? you will have to figure this out for yourself because every person's why is individual to him.

Have performance goals

During your 30 days to make an exercise habit you will have to have small goals that are achievable, for example if you are doing a max of 10 pushups try to shoot for 12 the next time, after that shoot for 15 pushups, eventually you will look back and realize that you are far more stronger than you used to be.

Word of caution here, never lose sight of the real reason why you are working out, if you get talked up with only increasing your push reps you might lose sight of the bigger picture.

Keep a log book

Take a regular notebook, write down the date, write down how much you weight at the time (if your goals require you to monitor your weight), write down the name of each exercise you do, write down the reps and the sets of each exercise.

If you want to know how much you have progressed you will have to take a certain scientific approach to exercising, your first 30 days to make an exercise habit are especially important because you will see how much you are progressing and you will be much more motivated to go on, thinking that you will remember everything yourself is foolish because no human being has that kind of memory, 6 months in you may hit a slump and without a log book you wont realize just how much you have progressed.

To Further Things

These tips will make your first 30 days to make an exercise habit much easier, its important that you apply them.

Remember! no one needs this more than you, if you make this part of your life a priority you will have a much higher chance of succeeding here, there are people who need motivation to do this, if you make exercising a habit you will naturally become motivated to work out.
