How to Clean 4 Frequented Areas of Your Home in Under 1 Hour

Cleaning your home fast is always a grand strategy, as it allows you to address other tasks and gives you more free time. However, it is essential not to sacrifice speed for effectiveness, i.e. cleaning in such a way that leaves the place in need of more cleaning. You should establish a system. Apart from that, you need to know what home cleaning chores to address and how to do them. Here are few tips to guide you through this process:

  • Bedroom (about 15 minutes) – a clean sweep is needed here. Strip down linens and throw them in the washing machine. A quick declutter is in order: everything that does not seem necessary should go in your dresser and closet. The more Spartan look you can give the place, the tidier it will be. Do not forget to make your bed. Quickly dusting the room can make a huge difference. Use a dry microfibre cloth and work your way from left to right. At this point, you can dump dust on the floor, because you will be vacuuming next. Bring out your vacuum cleaner and start from the farthest corner of the room.
  • Bathroom (about 10 minutes) – start off with some prep work: spritz the sink, shower and tube with an all-purpose spray (vinegar and water work well) and let it sit. Scrub the toilet with baking soda and the outside of the tank and toilet with a microfibre cloth. Clean the mirror too – spray some glass cleaner and wipe in a circular motion. Get back to cleaning the tub, sink and shower. You can wipe with a damp cloth and do some scrubbing on stubborn stains. Finish the job in the room by mopping the floor from the far corning working your way towards the door.
  • Kitchen (about 15 minutes) – toss all of the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Spend a few minutes to locate clutter on the countertops and remove it. Remove hard-to-clean gunk from the countertop and stove with a scraper. Grab a bottle of all-purpose spray and wipe countertops from the back to the front, brushing all of the crumbs on the floor. Do not forget to wipe the fridge, dishwasher and stove as well. Sweep the floor, starting from the far corner and working your way towards the door.
  • Living room (about 15 minutes) – start by clearing out the clutter. Locate what is out of place and store it. Dust the room by starting from a corner and working your way from left to right, similarly to how you did in other rooms. You will need to use a long arm duster for blinds. Clean glass surfaces by spraying a microfibre cloth with a cleaner and wiping in circular motions. Speed-vacuum the room to finish the job.

With that, you are now done cleaning the four most frequented rooms in under an hour. This strategy does wonders when you are expecting guests or when you just don’t have that much time to address home cleaning as a whole.
